Collaboration haptique étroitement couplée pour la déformation moléculaire interactive par Jean Simard

The PhD explore closely coupled collaborative configurations. It presents new haptic communication tools to improve communication and performances of a group.

On the first part of my thesis, I developed a software solution in order to simulate (namd namd Software which can simulate interactions of molecules. ) and to visualize (vmd vmd Software to visualize molecules in three dimensions. ) moleculars interactions. The real-time manipulation of the molecules is achieved with haptic interfaces (PHANToM SensAble PHANToM SensAble Haptic introduce the sens of touch through computer interfaces. PHANToM Omni PHANToM Desktop ) which are connected to the visualization molecule software (vrpn vrpn Communication programme which allow the connection between a computer and various peripherals like haptic interface, mices, tracking environment or stereoscopic systems... ).

During my second year, I studied and characterized the collaboration in three experimentations of molecular manipulation. We proved the advantages of collaborative work and higlighted the problematics (communication and coordination).

During the third year, I proposed new haptic communication tools in order to improve the communication and the coordination in a group.
